The Own Company Rebrand
Own Company, formerly OwnBackup and recently integrated with Salesforce, is a trusted data platform that transforms businesses and empowers customers by ensuring security, availability, and compliance of mission-critical data. Own enables customers around the world to truly own the data that powers their business. As the company evolved and developed new products in addition to their initial backup/recovery offering, such as Own Discover, it became naturally necessary for the company to reflect that growth and innovation by bringing new life to the brand’s identity. Vibrant and confident, the brand became as visually empowering and exciting as the company’s core message: Own Your Own Data. The rebranding successfully shifted Own’s brand perception from a “backup provider” to a leading full-service SaaS data platform with a focus on customer data ownership. The brand was reborn under the creative leadership of Brooke Glynn and a team of dedicated designers: Arslan Khaliq, Marius Dumitru, Andrew Best, Steven Connerton, Andreas Lee, and myself. My main focus was on creating compelling collateral, from typographic and editorial experimentation to internal and social campaigns.
